    About the Port

Bingen is located along the Columbia River and only 60 miles east of Portland, Oregon.  The town was platted in 1892 and named after Bingen-on-the-Rhine, Germany.  A great spot for a wide variety of recreational activities such as windsurfing, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling or just checking out some of the local wines.

White Salmon, with a population of 2,220 sits on a bluff above Bingen overlooking the Columbia River across from Hood River, Oregon. The local economy has been hit hard by the decline in the timber industry, but is seeing a rise in tourist-related industries and light manufacturing.

Trout Lake is a town of about 600 people southwest of the Mt Adams Wilderness Area.  The Mt Adams Ranger District - Gifford Pinchot National Forest is located in southwest Washington State. The Forest provides a wide variety of recreation opportunities and includes the 110,000 acre Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument established by Congress in 1982.

Mt Adams Chamber of Commerce

Glenwood is a small community just south of Mt Adams about 35 miles north of White Salmon and the Columbia River.

Lyle is a small community located at the confluence of the Columbia and Klickitat Rivers and about 9 miles east of Bingen and 12 miles west of The Dalles, Oregon.  In the center of the emerging wine industry and grape producing vineyards, Lyle is just minutes from 14 wine tasting rooms and many more vineyards. The Klickitat River, with a "wild and scenic" designation has one of the greatest vertical drops per mile of any river in Washington.  Annual migrations of Salmon and Steelhead make the Columbia and Klickitat Rivers outstanding fishing grounds.  The Klickitat is also a popular kayaking destination.
